Epiphanie Photo Contest : INDEPENDENCE

I have always been obsessed with taking pictures. Ask anyone who has every hung out with me (or just follow my blog for a while and you will see.) Upon my return from Iraq in 2011, I got my first "nice" camera, a Nikon D90. It is like my second child. I am in LOVE with it!

Well, I have really gotten into more skilled photography over the last two years. I have not read my manual or taken any photography classes... just experimented and read a tip here and there or looked something up. I am far from a professional. However, I would like to someday get to that level. I have had many people tell me that I should get into photography as a profession or enter photography contests. Although I am not confident enough to hit the big leagues, I have decided to see what is out there as far as online contests.

Yupp! I found one! It is a really easy one, especially because I already coincidently took the perfect picture for it on the 4th of July this year. The contest I am entering is the Epiphanie Photo Contest : INDEPENDENCE. And here is the photo I am submitting for it. What do you think?
